The EM Nutrient Balls are easy to use and suitable for all types of pond plants. You can simply place them in a basket with the plants, stick them in the substrate of a filter, or toss them amongst a batch of water plants in the pond. They sink directly to the bottom and slowly release nutrients, keeping your plants healthy and nourished throughout the year.

Composition

Natural clay holds nutrients and ensures that these are only available to rooting plants, but not to floating plants such as duckweed and unwanted growth of algae and weed. Organic Frassor fertiliser slowly releases nutrients. Chitin activates the plant’s defence mechanism, making it more resistant to diseases and pests. Organifer lava meal and lava grit provide the plant with essential minerals and trace elements. The EM Nutrient Balls are rich in positive microorganisms like bacteria and fungi to make nutrients available to the roots of the water plants. The organic molasses act as an energy source for important bacteria and contribute to the development of positive micro-organisms in the pond.

Instructions

Thanks to their spherical shape, the nutrient balls can be applied in various ways. In a plant basket, they can simply be pushed amongst the plants; in a filter, the sturdy balls can simply be inserted into the substrate; and in the pond, they can be tossed among a batch of water plants. The balls sink immediately and only disintegrate much later, thereafter releasing nutrients for a prolonged period at the roots.

Dosage

• Large pond plants: 1 ball per plant per year
• Medium pond plants: 1 ball per 2 plants per year
• Small pond plants: 1 ball per 6 plants per year

Storage

This product contains living micro-organisms such as positive bacteria and fungi. It is preferable to provide the product directly to the pond plants and not store it for an extended period to avoid loss of quality.
