Pastel Flowers that Provide Color and Atmosphere in Your Garden All Summer
This pastel-colored flower mix is composed of species known for their long-lasting bloom. Instead of wilting quickly, these flowers stay fresh, colorful, and full of presence for weeks. This way, you enjoy a garden that blooms from early summer well into autumn – without needing to reseed or replant repeatedly.
Thanks to the careful selection of annual and perennial flowers, this mix offers reliable and long-lasting bloom. Many species bloom continuously, especially when spent flowers are regularly removed. They provide not only color but also structure to flowerbeds and borders and attract plenty of bees and butterflies. Cosmos is known for its airy appearance and long flowering period. Zinnia is sturdy, blooms richly in soft colors, and remains beautiful for a long time. Nigella damascena (Love-in-a-mist) combines graceful flowers with decorative foliage and also forms attractive seed pods after flowering. Together, they create an elegant, low-maintenance garden full of pastel harmony.
Combine Pastel Shades with Warm or Cool Colors for a Soft, Balanced Sea of Flowers
Pastel flowers are ideal to combine with both warm-colored and cool-colored flower mixes. They soften bright shades such as red, orange, and yellow and bring calm to colorful borders. In combination with blue or purple, pastels enhance the feeling of space and harmony. This creates a balanced color palette that feels both lively and calm. Use pastel colors to create smooth transitions between warm and cool zones in the garden. Think of a light pastel strip between sunny, energetic flowers and deeper-colored plant beds. Or let pastel flowers speak for themselves as romantic accents among other flowers. The possibilities are endless for a garden full of balance, atmosphere, and style.
Instructions for Use
New Sowing
- Choose a sunny spot in the garden, flowerbed, or planter. This flower mix thrives best in a place with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day
- Loosen the soil to about 20 cm deep. Remove weeds and rake the top layer finely and evenly. Add some compost if needed for a good start.
- Sow the flower seeds directly in the open ground between March and September. Spread the mix thinly and evenly over the surface.
- Press the seeds lightly with a rake or by gently walking over them. The seeds should be just covered with a thin layer of soil, no deeper than 0.5–1 cm.
- Water gently immediately after sowing with a watering can or fine sprinkler. Keep the soil moist for the first 2 weeks for good germination.
- After emergence, you can thin the plants if needed to allow enough growing space. Remove weeds regularly and water extra during dry periods.
- The first flowers will appear within a few weeks. Enjoy a summer sea of flowers full of warmth, color, and life well into the autumn!
Dosage
- New sowing - 2 grams per m² - This amount ensures an even distribution and sufficient bloom without overcrowding. Ideal for a colorful, full result.
- Overseeding or repair - 1 gram per m² - Use a lower dosage if you are supplementing existing planting or reseeding bare spots.
Tip: Mix the seeds with fine sand (e.g., 1:5) for an even distribution when sowing. This prevents seed clumping and promotes an even flower display.
