Acid-loving plants such as rhododendrons, hydrangeas, azaleas, and blueberries thrive only in slightly acidic soil with a pH between 4.5 and 6. When the pH is too high, nutrient uptake is reduced, leading to stunted growth, chlorosis, and diminished flowering.

A well-balanced soil pH ensures that essential nutrients such as iron, phosphate, and magnesium remain optimally available. This prevents deficiencies and promotes healthy root development, vibrant leaf colour, and abundant flowering. Regular pH testing is therefore essential for the successful cultivation of acid-loving plants.

Professional Granulate

The fertiliser is pressed into firm, uniform pellets that do not crumble and produce minimal dust. Thanks to this structure, the product is easy to distribute evenly, both manually and with a spreader. This prevents overdosing in specific areas and ensures balanced nutrition for every plant.

The pellets roll smoothly over the soil and can be accurately dosed, even in hard-to-reach places such as pots, borders, or between perennials. The consistent shape and weight of the granulate allow for wide and controlled distribution.

Instructions for Use

Evenly spread the fertiliser around the plants and gently work it into the topsoil to avoid root damage. After application, ensure sufficient watering so the nutrients dissolve well and are immediately available for plant uptake. The recommended application period is from March through August.

A large portion of the nitrogen is released during the first growing season. The remaining amount is gradually made available in subsequent years through microbial conversion. Phosphate and potassium are immediately available and contribute to root growth, flowering, and overall plant health.

Dosage

• Rhododendrons: 100 g per plant or 80–120 g/m², preferably in spring

• Azaleas: 60–80 g/m² applied before flowering

• Heathers: 20 g/m² applied before the flowering period

• Blueberries and bilberries: 40–50 g/m² early in spring

• Cowberries (lingonberries): 20–25 g/m² in early spring

• Camellias: 80–100 g/m² in early spring

• Gardenias: 50–70 g/m² during the growing season

• Magnolias: 80–100 g/m² at planting and in early spring

• Japanese maples: 30–50 g/m² in spring

• Pieris: 50–75 g/m² in spring or immediately after flowering

• Skimmia: 30–50 g/m² in early spring

• Hydrangeas:
  – For new plantings: mix 50–100 g per plant into the soil
  – For established potted plants: lightly work in 50–100 g per plant in early spring
  – Stop fertilising from the beginning of July

Storage

This fertiliser will retain its quality for up to 2 years if stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
