The Earliest Firm-Cooking Potato with Exceptional Taste
The Annabelle seed potato is celebrated as the earliest firm-cooking variety, ideal for a quick harvest. With its long oval shape, smooth skin, and shallow eyes, this potato retains its form and texture even after cooking. Its yellow flesh and refined flavor, comparable to the Roseval potato, make it perfect for premium dishes such as salads. Annabelle is also highly versatile, suitable for boiling, baking, and a variety of other culinary applications.
Robust Performance and Popular Variety
Annabelle is a relatively young variety that is rapidly gaining popularity among both hobby gardeners and commercial growers. This variety offers not only an early harvest but also a reliable yield with uniform tubers of excellent quality. Thanks to its high consistency in shape and size, Annabelle is particularly suitable for commercial use, such as supermarket sales, as well as for household use, where convenience and consistency are valued. With limited susceptibility to scab and minimal sensitivity to storage diseases, these potatoes have excellent shelf life. For optimal growth, it is recommended to plant Annabelle seed potatoes approximately 3 cm deeper than usual, promoting root development and nutrient absorption.
Long-Lasting Shelf Life and Easy Storage
Annabelle potatoes are distinguished by their excellent storage capacity. When stored at around 10°C, their flavor and texture remain preserved, making them a reliable choice for both short- and long-term storage. Their firmness and uniform size make them ideal for both household use and commercial sales.
Premium NAK-Certified Seed Potatoes
The Dutch Annabelle seed potatoes are NAK-certified and meet the highest quality standards. This ensures that growers receive healthy, reliable, and GMO-free seed potatoes. Annabelle offers consistency in flavor, texture, and yield, making this variety an excellent choice for both sustainable farming and culinary applications.

Instructions for Use
-
Soil Preparation:
Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil. Work the soil to a depth of 30 cm to create a loose structure that promotes root development.
- Pre-Sprouting (Optional): Begin pre-sprouting the seed potatoes about four weeks before planting in a warm, well-lit environment. This process encourages the formation of strong shoots, accelerates growth, and reduces the time to harvest.
- Planting: Timing: Plant seed potatoes early in the spring, after the frost period. Spacing: Plant the potatoes in straight rows, keeping a distance of approximately 40 cm between plants and 60 cm between rows. Depth: Ensure the potatoes are planted about 10 cm deep, with the shoots facing upwards.
- Care: Gradually add more soil around the plants (known as earthing up) about six weeks after planting. This supports stem growth, promotes soil warming, and ensures proper drainage. Use Organifer fertilizers and start applying Organifer plant enhancers, such as Phytophthora concentrate, ten weeks after planting to maintain optimal plant health.
- Harvesting: Begin harvesting early varieties approximately 90 days after planting, or late varieties after 120 days, depending on weather conditions and the potato variety. Use a harvesting machine or a fork to carefully lift the potatoes from the ground without damaging the tubers.
Storage
Store seed potatoes in a cool, dry, and dark location to prevent sprouting and spoilage. Ensure adequate ventilation to prevent moisture buildup and ethylene accumulation, which can lead to mold and rot. Avoid storing potatoes near ethylene-emitting fruits such as apples, as this can accelerate sprouting. Inspect regularly and remove any damaged potatoes to limit disease spread. Use breathable storage materials, such as paper or fabric bags, to ensure proper air circulation.
