Universal, Early, and Exceptional in Taste
Frieslander seed potatoes are celebrated for their rapid development and early maturity, making them an excellent choice for growers aiming for an early harvest. With their long oval tuber shape and light yellow color after cooking, they offer both visual appeal and superior flavor. The smooth skin makes Frieslanders easy to prepare, and their crumbly texture after cooking is perfect for a wide variety of dishes, from mashed potatoes to fries.
Robust Performance and Unmatched Disease Resistance
These potatoes excel in adaptability to short growing seasons and provide robust resistance to diseases like Phytophthora. Their natural resistance reduces the need for chemical treatments and supports sustainable cultivation practices. Frieslanders perform best in medium to heavy clay soils, making them a reliable choice for both hobby gardeners and professional growers.
Easy to Store with Long Shelf Life After Harvest
Frieslander potatoes are renowned for their excellent storage capabilities. When stored above 5°C, their quality remains intact, preventing sweetening. This makes them suitable for both short and long storage periods, ideal for household use and commercial applications.

Instructions for Use
- Soil preparation: Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil. Work the soil to a depth of 30 cm to create a loose structure, which promotes root development.
- Pre-sprouting (optional): Start pre-sprouting the potatoes about four weeks before planting in a warm and light environment. This process encourages the formation of strong shoots, accelerates growth and reduces the time to harvest.
- Planting: Timing: Plant the seed potatoes in early spring, after the frost period. Plant the potatoes in straight lines, with a distance of about 40 cm between the plants and 60 cm between the rows. Make sure that the potatoes are planted about 10 cm deep, with the shoots facing upwards.
- Care: About six weeks after planting, gradually add more soil to the plants by earthing up. This supports stem growth, promotes warming of the soil and ensures good drainage. Use Organifer fertilizers and start applying Organifer plant enhancers such as Phytophthora concentrate ten weeks after planting for optimum plant health.
- Harvesting: Start harvesting from 90 days for early varieties to 120 days for late varieties after planting, depending on the weather and potato variety. Use a harvester or a rake to carefully lift the potatoes out of the ground without damaging the tubers.
Storage
Store seed potatoes in a cool, dry, and dark place to prevent sprouting and spoilage. Ensure proper ventilation to avoid moisture buildup and ethylene exposure, which can cause mold and rotting. Avoid storing near ethylene-emitting fruits like apples, as this can accelerate sprouting. Inspect regularly and remove damaged potatoes to minimize the risk of disease. Use breathable storage materials like paper or cloth bags rather than airtight containers.
