Healthy horse pasture with an exceptionally strong sward
Organifer Paddock is a premium grass seed mixture, specially developed for intensively used horse pastures and paddock grass surfaces. The mixture germinates quickly, forms a strong and dense turf, and withstands heavy pressure from horses’ hooves. Thanks to its high germination rate and low growth point, bare patches are minimised and weeds have little chance to establish.
The result is a firm, durable and safe sward that withstands galloping, rolling and daily use. The closed turf also helps prevent sand colic, ensuring that the horse pasture remains not only strong and resilient but also healthy over the long term.
Structured and palatable grass
The mixture consists of palatable varieties such as perennial ryegrass, timothy, red fescue and smooth-stalked meadow grass. These grasses are rich in fibre and have a low fructan content, significantly reducing the risk of laminitis. Horses readily graze the grass, providing them with healthy and balanced nutrition directly from the pasture.
Quick establishment and excellent regrowth
Thanks to its high germination rate and low growth point, Organifer Paddock establishes rapidly and recovers far better than standard grasses. While ordinary pastures often remain grazed bare, Paddock quickly closes the turf again. This creates a consistently productive and healthy pasture that maintains a fresh green appearance throughout the year.
Although developed for intensive grazing and trampling, Organifer Paddock is also highly suitable for mowing and hay production. This makes the mixture versatile in use: a nutritious horse pasture that also serves as a productive forage field. In addition, the mixture is widely applicable for other animals such as sheep, goats and alpacas, and is suitable for all soil types.
Deep rooting and weather-resistant turf
Thanks to its deep rooting, Organifer Paddock forms an exceptionally strong and stable turf. The robust root structure not only ensures solid anchorage against heavy trampling but also makes the pasture more resistant to drought and heavy rainfall. This keeps the sward resilient and healthy under all weather conditions. The result is a consistently dense horse pasture with a long lifespan, reducing the need for frequent overseeding and keeping the pasture in top condition for many years.
Guaranteed quality, NAK-certified
All varieties in Organifer Paddock are NAK-certified in the Netherlands and meet the strictest standards for germination capacity and purity. This guarantees reliability and top quality. Organifer sets particularly high standards for selection and composition, ensuring the mixture not only withstands heavy use but also delivers maximum nutritional value and durability. We guarantee the finest starting material as the foundation for a perfect turf.

Application
Organifer Paddock is suitable for all soil types.
Sowing / overseeding
New establishment
A horse pasture can be sown from March through to November, though the hot summer months are less suitable. For sowing with Organifer Paddock we recommend approx. 90 kg grass seed mixture per hectare. For an optimal start, good fertilisation is essential; Organifer Pasture Fertiliser is ideal for this purpose.
For new sowing we always advise taking a soil sample to determine the soil’s nutrient status. Based on the analysis results, Organifer can provide tailored advice and correct any deficiencies, for example by liming to optimise the pH.
Overseeding
Urine, molehills, frost and drought damage can cause bare patches in the pasture. Older pastures that have not been renewed for years are often filled with undesirable weeds. By overseeding with Organifer Paddock (approx. 45 kg per hectare), the pasture is replenished with strong, healthy grasses.
Mow the grass short and loosen the soil with a harrow, drag or rake. Sow using a seed drill, fertiliser spreader or, if necessary, crosswise by hand. Always ensure that the grass seed has good soil contact; firm the ground after sowing with a pasture roller for reliable establishment.
Ensure sufficient moisture so the grass can germinate quickly and roots can establish well. Once the turf is established, the grass can develop into a permanently strong sward.
