Always a strong and green lawn, even in drought and heat
Drought-resistant Organifer Arida Lawn Grass Seed has been specially developed for those who want a green, resilient and sustainable lawn, even in the hottest summers and during long dry periods. This unique mixture contains tall fescue, smooth-stalked meadow grass and other deep-rooting grass varieties that keep the lawn healthy, dense and colourfast, with minimal water use and exceptional drought and heat tolerance. Thanks to its deep rooting, the grass draws moisture from deeper soil layers, making the lawn less dependent on irrigation and preventing it from drying out quickly, even in the driest and hottest climates.
Organifer Arida is therefore one of the most widely sown lawn and sports field mixtures in dry regions such as Southern Europe. This success is due to its proven performance under extreme conditions. The mixture is also becoming increasingly popular in other parts of Europe, especially in areas where summers are becoming more extreme and where a perfectly green lawn is desired, even in the hottest months.
Maximum results with minimal maintenance
Organifer Arida delivers a strong, future-proof lawn that requires little maintenance, giving you more time to enjoy your garden without the need for constant watering or fertilising. Its strong root growth allows the grass to absorb moisture from deeper layers of the soil, making it ideal for sandy soils, warm climates and dry summers. This reduces the need for irrigation and saves both time and costs. Organifer Arida is therefore the ideal choice for those who not only want a beautiful lawn but also wish to benefit from the advantages of a low-maintenance and sustainable lawn.
Save water with Arida Grass Seed
Arida Grass Seed is the perfect choice for those who want to save water without compromising on the quality of their lawn. Thanks to the deep-rooting grass varieties, the lawn draws moisture from deeper soil layers, significantly reducing the need for irrigation. Organifer Arida is not only an environmentally friendly choice but also a cost-effective solution for anyone wishing to minimise lawn maintenance. The result is a healthy, green lawn that looks beautiful all year round, even during dry spells. This makes Arida Grass Seed the ideal choice for homeowners, sports clubs and businesses who want to enjoy a lush green lawn, even in the hottest summers, without worrying about water shortages or intensive maintenance.
A resilient lawn, even on hot summer days
Even during extreme heat, your lawn will remain green, full and strong thanks to the drought- and heat-tolerant grass varieties in Arida Grass Seed. The deep-rooting species, such as tall fescue and smooth-stalked meadow grass, make the lawn more resistant to prolonged drought. Thanks to this exceptional root structure, Arida Grass Seed not only stays green but also recovers quickly after wear. The grass retains its density, colour and strength, even after extended dry periods – the perfect choice for a sustainable, low-maintenance lawn, even in the hottest summers.

Step-by-step guide to sowing grass
-
Cultivate or dig the soil to a depth of about 25 cm, remove weeds and level the ground. If desired, apply soil improvers for better water retention and soil structure.
-
Sow mechanically or, if sowing by hand, start with the outer edges.
-
Then sow crosswise, once lengthwise and once widthwise, across the entire area.
-
Lightly rake the grass seed into the soil (depth of 0.5–1 cm) to ensure good seed-to-soil contact. Optionally apply a topdressing for a better seedbed and optimal germination.
-
Firm the seed by walking or rolling over it to ensure good establishment after germination.
-
Water lightly with a fine spray if it does not rain within 24 hours of sowing and keep the soil consistently moist.
-
When the grass has reached a length of around 10 cm, it is time for the first mowing. Do not cut it short straight away, but mow weekly, gradually lowering to a length of about 3–4 cm.
-
Ensure regular moisture supply but allow the grass to develop its roots.
-
Fertilise the lawn for the first time one week after emergence with Lawn Fertiliser All-In-One and thereafter three times a year (spring, summer and autumn).
Dosage
- New sowing: 1 kg per 50 m²
Overseeding: 1 kg per 100 m²
Composition
- 75% Tall fescue (deep-rooting and drought-tolerant)
- 15% Perennial ryegrass (quick establishment)
- 10% Smooth-stalked meadow grass (dense sward and recovery capacity)
Application
Drought-resistant Arida Grass Seed is suitable for all soil types and the ideal choice for both lawns and sports fields where drought tolerance is required.
Sowing period
March to October
Late summer sowingThe ideal period for sowing drought-resistant grass seed is late summer (mid-August to mid-October). The soil is still warm, there is sufficient moisture, and weed pressure is low. This ensures rapid, even germination and strong grass development.
Spring sowing
Sowing in spring is also possible, but wait until the soil temperature is at least 10°C – usually from April onwards. Allow for slower germination and potential competition from weeds.
*Ensure sufficient moisture so the grass can germinate quickly and roots can establish well. Once the lawn is successfully established, it will build up its drought tolerance.
