Excellent Frying Variety with Versatile Applications

The Agria seed potato, developed in 1986, is a favorite for fries thanks to its long oval tubers, smooth skin, and deep yellow flesh. In addition to making fries, this potato is highly suitable for boiling, baking, and mashed dishes. Its floury texture makes Agria an excellent choice for those who appreciate flavorful and versatile potatoes.

High Yield and Reliable Quality

Agria is known for its high yield and uniform tuber size, making it ideal for both household and commercial use. This variety performs best on clay soils but can also be cultivated on sandy soils with proper care. The crop grows vigorously and produces firm tubers that are easy to peel. While Agria is moderately resistant to Phytophthora in the tubers, the foliage is more susceptible and benefits from a preventive approach using Organifer Phytophthora concentrate.

Immediate Enjoyment of the Harvest

Agria is a medium to late variety, typically harvested after approximately 140 days, with the harvest period falling in August and September. This variety is not a typical storage potato and is best consumed directly after harvesting. With its high starch content and floury texture, Agria delivers a delicious flavor and perfect preparation results.

Choosing Agria seed potatoes is an investment in top-quality professional Dutch seed stock. This NAK-certified seed meets the highest quality standards and is guaranteed free from genetic modification. Instructions for Use

  1. Soil preparation: Choose a sunny location with well-draining soil. Work the soil to a depth of 30 cm to create a loose structure that promotes root development. Agria performs best on clay soils but can also be cultivated on sandy soils with proper care.

  2. Pre-sprouting (optional): Start pre-sprouting approximately four weeks before planting in a warm, bright area. This encourages the development of strong shoots, speeds up growth, and can reduce the time to harvest, which is particularly useful for this late variety.

  3. Planting: Plant the seed potatoes early in spring after the last frost. Maintain a 40 cm distance between plants and 60 cm between rows or 75 cm for wider rows. Plant the potatoes approximately 10 cm deep with the shoots facing upward.

  4. Care: Hilling is essential for healthy growth. Around six weeks after planting, gradually add more soil around the plants. This supports stem growth, improves drainage, and protects tubers from sunlight. Use Organifer fertilizers and start applying Organifer plant boosters such as Phytophthora concentrate ten weeks after planting for optimal plant health.

  5. Harvesting: Agria is a late variety, typically harvested after approximately 140 days, usually in August or September. Use a harvester or garden fork to gently lift the tubers without damage. Agria is not a long-storage variety, so consume shortly after harvesting for the best quality.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent sprouting. Ensure good ventilation during storage to minimize moisture and reduce the risk of mold.
