Thanks to their early maturity, these potatoes are ideal for growers who want to enjoy freshly harvested potatoes early in the season. The pleasant taste and tender texture make Première potato suitable for boiling, light frying, and everyday meals. These seed potatoes deliver uniform tubers and attractive results, making them a popular choice for gardeners seeking an early and reliable harvest. Instructions for Use

  1. Soil preparation: Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil. Loosen the soil to a depth of approximately 30 cm to promote fast root and tuber development.
  2. Pre-sprouting (optional): Pre-sprouting can be done about three to four weeks before planting in a light, frost-free environment to encourage early shoot formation and faster emergence.
  3. Planting: Plant after the risk of frost has passed. Maintain around 40 cm between plants and 60 cm between rows. Plant potato tubers about 10 cm deep with the shoots facing upward.
  4. Care: Earth up the plants gradually after about five to six weeks. Regular watering and balanced fertilisation support early growth and uniform tuber development.
  5. Harvesting: Harvest Première potatoes from around 90 days after planting, depending on weather conditions. Lift potato sets carefully to avoid damaging the tubers.

Storage

Première seed potatoes should be stored in a cool, dry, and dark place before planting. After harvest, the potatoes are best consumed fresh. For short-term storage, keep harvested potatoes cool, dry, and well ventilated. Avoid exposure to light and moisture to maintain quality.
