Description

Organifer Bentonite is the perfect soil improver for light sandy soils. These puffed clay minerals from natural rock are particularly suited to enhancing the structure and cohesion of sandy soils. As a result, sandy soils become easier to work with, and their structure is markedly improved after application.

But that’s not all! Organifer Bentonite also improves the soil’s water balance and prevents the washing away of fertilisers. This is because it is highly absorbent and can take up to 10 times its own weight in water. Consequently, the soil does not dry out as quickly, and the moisture is available to plants for longer, even in dry summers.

Organifer Bentonite positively affects the nutrient storage capacity of the soil and prevents washout. It activates the soil life and improves nutrient exchange between soil and plant, promotes soil fertility, and increases the efficiency of fertilisers.

Usage Instructions

When creating, renovating and maintaining (drought-prone) sandy soils. Distribute the Bentonite evenly over the sandy soil and incorporate it into the top layer of the soil.

• 70% Montmorillonite
• 60% SiO2 (Silicon Dioxide)
• 22% Al2O3 (Aluminium Oxide)
• 0.4% CaO (Calcium Oxide)
• 4.5% K2O (Total Potassium Oxide)
• 2.1% MgO (Total Magnesium Oxide)
• 100 mg/kg Mo (Molybdenum)
• 500 mg/kg Zn (Zinc)
• 100 mg/kg Cu (Copper)
• 100 mg/kg Mn (Manganese)
• Pellet size: 0.5 – 1.4 mm

Dosage

• Light soils: 150 g/m²
• Medium soils: 100 g/m²
• Heavy soils: 50 g/m²
• Composting: Add approximately 1 kg Bentonite per 10 cm compost layer and m² compost area to prevent washout in compost and retain valuable humic acids. Mix the Bentonite evenly into the compost pile as you build it. Cover thinly with garden soil or leaves afterwards.
• Spread on beds and other surfaces: 100-300 g per m².
• Mix with soil: 10-25 kg/m³, depending on the soil’s nature.
• For example, for planting roses: Sprinkle Bentonite into the planting hole, lightly mix, and moisten well, or dip the roots or root balls into a Bentonite suspension and plant directly.
• Bentonite can be used in ponds to improve waterproofing and keep the water clear. Bentonite can be used when creating new ponds or refurbishing existing ones. The addition of Bentonite makes the bottom of the pond watertight and prevents leaks

* When using Bentonite in combination with compost, the dosage can be reduced by 1/3.
**Bentonite can be used all year round.

Store Bentonite in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place. Protect from moisture, sunlight, and extreme temperatures.
